Authors
Kristen and Liz are the heart and soul behind Bark and Books, a series inspired by their deep passion for helping animals and spreading compassion. Liz, the Founder and Director of Small But Mighty Rescue, and Kristen, a seasoned foster, have spent years working to give dogs a second chance at happiness.
Together, they’ve fostered nearly 500 dogs, turning each rescue into a story of hope, resilience, and love. Through their books, Kristen and Liz aim to inspire readers of all ages to embrace kindness, advocate for animals, and understand the transformative power of rescue.
Illustrator
Faith Stanley spent her childhood and education immersed in art. After years of studying fine arts and graphic design, she has enjoyed her new journey in book illustrations. Art has always been a way for Faith to express herself, and she hopes her book illustrations will encourage others to do so as well. She lives with her husband and two cats in Greenville, South Carolina and spends most of her time with loved ones, playing volleyball or working on art and graphic design.
Illustrator
Mercedes would consider herself a jack of all trades. She thrives on building meaningful relationships, exploring the outdoors, traveling, staying active, and cherishing time with loved ones. With over 20 years of dance experience, and a diverse portfolio of artistic projects, she has always been deeply connected to the arts.
As an Alopecia advocate, Mercedes uses her personal journey to support others, break stigmas, and inspire confidence. Her mission is to foster connections and create art that encourages children to dream big, embrace their creativity, and
celebrate their uniqueness.
